Want a wood fire in your pit but still want to have a means to cook over coals?  This coal pan fits the bill.
Simply shovel your coals out of your fire onto this pan, then it is quite easy to regulate the temp on and around your cast iron.

This pit is a great starting place for outdoor cooking.  At 24", it is quite portable, but gives enough space to both have a fire and cook.  Grill included.

We fix entire meals on our discada.  Cook in the center, push to sides to hold warm.
